Father John Paul Selleck, 86, who was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Camden and ministered in the Air Force, died on Jan. 29.

Born in New York, Father Selleck attended Our Lady of Angels Seminary in New York, and was ordained on June 15, 1957, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Camden.
He served as parochial vicar at St. Peter, Merchantville (1957-62) and Our Lady Star of the Sea, Atlantic City (1962-63), before joining the United States Air Force in 1963. In this capacity, he was chaplain at Air Force bases in Texas, Oklahoma, Minnesota and North Dakota.

In 1991, he retired from the Air Force, and served St. Francis of Assisi in Blountstown, Fla., and St. Dominic, in Panama City, Fla.

In 2001, he retired from active ministry.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
